A Calif. mom has been accused of beating her kids while on a flight from San Francisco to Denver. Tamera Jo Freeman, 38, faces a charge of interference with flight crew and assault.
According to an affidavit, witnesses told investigators that Freeman had been using profane language and hitting her children -ages 2 and 4 - to the point they were crying and trying to hide in a corner on the floor. When a flight attendant intervened, Freeman allegedly threw a drink on the floor and confronted the flight attendant in a common area. Freeman told investigators that she slapped her children because they were fighting over a window shade. She denied throwing a drink, saying she had set it down on the floor on the aisle and added she "lost it" while on the plane.
Be careful of disciplining your kids while you are on a flight--you may end up going to jail. No photo has been released as of yet. I will post one as soon as it comes available.
Michael Vick and three others were indicted today by a federal grand jury on charges of competitive dogfighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting, and conducting the operation across state lines.
If convicted, Vick and the others — Purnell A. Peace, Quanis L. Phillips and Tony Taylor — could face up to six years in prison, $350,000 in fines and restitution.
Damn, I hope he got a good attorney.. Good Luck, Vick, you are going to need it.
This is a very disheartening article that I ran across today. This is not the image the founders had in mind. On college campuses, Greek members are looked at as role models and leaders. Greek members have to be aware of what they are doing at all times.
According to The Toledo Blade, During the four-day convention, prosecutors said, North Toledoan Kevin Murphy provided several prostitutes through an escort service he ran under the names "Janelle's Sophisticated Ladies" and "Erotic Angels."
Among those prostitutes: a barely 16-year-old Toledo girl.
She and the adult prostitutes would "dance and strip" for convention-goers, Assistant U.S.
Attorney David Bauer told federal Judge David Katz yesterday. "Mr. Murphy … made members of this fraternity aware that women were available for other services - in other words, prostitution services," Mr. Bauer said.
Investigators said a fraternity contact would offer Murphy information about conventions, and Murphy would transport his prostitutes. Mr. Bauer did not name the fraternity contact, but he did say it did not appear to be a high-level decision to bring in prostitutes.
Murphy offered prostitutes at several fraternity conventions last year, including meetings in Peoria, Ill., and Dearborn, Mich., Mr. Bauer said.
Investigators learned of the arrangement during their "Innocence Lost" investigations, a national initiative to stop the underage sex trade. Investigators made several prostitution-related arrests last July 25 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel during the national Alpha Phi Alpha convention, Mr. Bauer said in court. According to news reports at the time, more than 5,000 people attended, including Congressional representatives, actor Lou Gossett, Jr., and Grammy Award-winner Lionel Richie.
William Lyle, director of communications for the fraternity's national office, told The Blade he was not aware of the arrests last year in Washington and does not know Murphy.
Joe Conley, who works in the University of Toledo's legal affairs department and is president of the UT's Alpha Phi Alpha alumni chapter, also said he did not know Murphy or of the arrests. "This is the first I've heard of it, and it's really troubling," Mr. Conley said.
As a member of a sorority, it saddens me to even blog about this topic. When are young women and men going to realize that once you pay the induction fees and such, you are in that sorority or fraternity.
Three sorority members at face charges for hazing a student by forcing her to eat garbage, hitting her and spraying something in her face. Link
The women, members of sorority, were charged with third-degree assault and hazing, both misdemeanors.
Now the national chapter has suspended the chapter and the university will not recognize the chapter as a campus organization.
As one of my big sisters told me when I was "on line," you can always say "No." Obviously, these young women were not told this or didn't have the courage to say "No, I will not do this."

The 'Golden Boy' of the 2008 Presidential Election -- Barack Obama - has lashed out at White House rival Rudy Guilani for a comment that was made.
At a New Hampshire function held Tuesday, Giuliani stated that if a Democrat is elected as President it would cause the country to face another terrorist attack.
In response to Giulianis comment, Obama had this to say:
"Rudy Giuliani today has taken the politics of fear to a new low and I believe Americans are ready to reject those kind of politics," Obama said in a statement. "America's mayor should know that when it comes to 9-11 and fighting terrorists, America is united. We know we can win this war based on shared purpose, not the same divisive politics that question your patriotism if you dare to question failed policies that have made us less secure."
It looks as if the gloves are off..In the immortal words of Michael Buffer--Let's Get Ready to RUUUMMMMBBBLLLEE!!
Sound Off: Do you think Obama has what it takes to be President?

I was at the nail shop when this story interrupted the regular scheduled program.
According to kvue.com, a gunman is hold up on the second floor of a NASA building in Houston, Texas. Building 44 was being evacuated after a report of a man with a gun. Building 44 houses the communication and engineering departments at Johnson Space Center.
The school, Space Center Intermediate School, adjacent to the Center was on lockdown.
Developing story...
Note: The gunman did kill one of two hostages and then took his own life.
Question: Do you feel safe at work? Why? Why Not?
