Sorority Members Charged in Hazing Case

As a member of a sorority, it saddens me to even blog about this topic. When are young women and men going to realize that once you pay the induction fees and such, you are in that sorority or fraternity.

Three sorority members at Southeast Missouri State University face charges for hazing a student by forcing her to eat garbage, hitting her and spraying something in her face. Link

The women, members of Zeta Phi Beta sorority, were charged with third-degree assault and hazing, both misdemeanors.

Now the national chapter has suspended the chapter and the university will not recognize the chapter as a campus organization.

As one of my big sisters told me when I was "on line," you can always say "No." Obviously, these young women were not told this or didn't have the courage to say "No, I will not do this."
